Storytelling Mural for the gas station "From Deep Seas to Fuel Pumps"

476 Montauk Hwy, East Moriches, NY 11940

The artwork is a personal story of Ozzy, the station’s owner, whose journey has carried him from the depths of the sea to the heart of this Long Island community.

Originally from Turkey, Ozzy is a former deep sea diver who once explored oceans around the world and had unforgettable encounters with whales. He also served in the army, stationed on both the West and East Coasts of the U.S. Ozzy traded fins for fuel pumps, but still, while running his gas station in East Moriches, he dives locally from time to time — holding onto the saltwater spirit that shaped him.

The mural’s ocean theme is not just a nod to Ozzy’s past, but also a tribute to the Long Island coast, its waters, and the people who live close to it.

The mural can be seen on the outer wall of Wave pit stop at 476 Montauk Hwy, East Moriches, NY 11940, and is open to all who pass by — a new local landmark shaped by one man’s journey, and the ocean we all share.
